Mechanics of Advanced Materials Group Members
Mr. Ramkumar is JLA associated with Materials science, metal casting and composite laboratory. He kindly looks after the need of Mechanics of Advanced Materials Laboratory as well. He is one of the most important support for our lab. He is very hardworking and always ready to help research scholars and BTech students working with MAdMatLab Group.
Beant Kaur holds B. Tech degree from Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar and M. Tech in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from Panjab University, Chandigarh. During M. Tech she has developed organic-inorganic nanohybrids using nanoparticles of silver, gold and copper which encourages her to discover more in the area of nanotechnology. She joined Ph.D. in SMMEE at IIT Ropar in July 2014. She is working on the Development of Carbon Nanotube based electrochemical sensor for recognition of heavy metal ions and several other analytes in water.

"After receiving his masters in the area of passive vibration damping from National Institute of Technology Jalandhar, Harpreet Singh Bedi joined Indian Institute of Technology Ropar as a PhD student on Jan 2015. Working in the broad field of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites for aerospace applications, he is investigating the role of carbon nanotubes in improving the interfacial strength of these composites. To this end, he is currently studying the wetting behavior of CNT coated carbon fiber with different polymer in order to predict the most suitable polymer to process CNT grafted carbon fiber/polymer multiscale composites."

Mr. Sorab Khan received his B.Tech(Honours) in Mechanical Engineering from Rajasthan Technical University in 2013. He joined School of Mechanical,Material and Energy Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar as M.Tech student in July 2015. He is currently working on Experimental investigation of fatigue behavior of carbon nanotube based composites.
'Mr. Saurabh shukla is currently pursuing Masters in Mechanical Engineering at IIT Ropar. He is working on the problem of "Numerical modelling of irradiation induced hardening and embrittlement of nuclear material " as his MTech project. He had done is B.tech from KLS Gogte Institute of Technology which is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University.
Mr. Asheesh kumar sharma is currently pursuing Masters in Mechanical Engineering at IIT Ropar. He is working on Analysis of composite materials under bullet impact loading as his M. Tech. project. The objective is to analyse the response of ceramic/fibre reinforced composite armours to the bullet impact. He has completed his B.tech from A.K.G.E.C Ghaziabad affiliated to U.P.T.U. His BTP project was "solar water heater using phase change materials".

Mr. Karanvir Singh Prihar is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at IIT Ropar. He is motivated to study about the tribology of materials found in nature with special surface properties and mimic these properties artificially. Keeping this interest he is working on “Fabrication of Superhydrophobic Surfaces using patterned CNT growth” as his BTP project. After his B.Tech degree he will be joining Tata Motors."
Mr. Sanyam Jain is currently pursuing Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering at IIT Ropar. He is motivated to study about the current advancements in materials such as polymers and composites. Keeping this interest he is working on “Analysis of material failure under bullet impact” as his BTP project. The objective is to analyse the response of ceramic/fibre reinforced composite armours to the bullet impact. After his B.Tech degree he will be joining Tata Motors.
